I remember reading about you all first time with the Tsunami. I was touched by your story and was so very happy you got support you needed. How are you doing now and how is Japan doing? We are still praying for you. Seve from EspaƱa

Seve thank you for writing in. I remember the card you sent us at the time! We treasured it!Since the Tsunami Japan has recovered greatly, but the damage was so severe that it will still be another 5 or 10 years till everything is back up and running as normal. After the event the economy shrunk greatly... and is just now beginning to recover. Basically large taxes and price increases were instituted to pay for cleanup. Cooking gas & electricity prices went up by about 30 to 40%.... and nobody complained! Towns like Minami SanRiku shown below have been cleared out, but as far as we know almost no new planning or construction has been done. It caused a lot of young people to mature and take responsibility and many have sought higher spiritual values. As a missionary I can say that at no other time has there ever been such a hunger for the Lord's Love as now. Other missionaries from different mission feilds would be disappointed but from what it was before spiritually... this is a big change... and we are thankful. My little family have personally gone through a lot of ups and downs. At first not knowing how we would make it to forging ahead with help from Kim & Jane Clement and their ministry. Overall the battle for the souls here continues... one day at a time... one life at a time... one witness at a time. Please keep Japan & us in your prayers. The Battle Continues!
